In a repeat of the now infamous season one appearance of the likeness of ex-U.S. President George Bush’s head on a King’s Landing spike, reports have surfaced that HBO’s Game of Thrones has inadvertently used a replica of British Prime Minister David Cameron’s scrotum in a season two episode featuring the battle for Winterfell Castle.
In a statement released earlier today, HBO said, “We were shocked and horrified to see a reasonable facsimile of the prime ministers balls and frankly, find it unacceptable and done in very poor taste. We will have the offending sack removed immediately from the episode and any future distribution of the show.”
The show’s producers, once again caught in the media crossfire, blamed the gaffe on fast production turnaround, shrinking visceral effects budgets and a shortage of prop genitalia while on location in Northern Ireland. A production executive who wished to remain nameless said, “We meant no disrespect. Not sure why it’s such a big deal. It’s not a model of the guy’s unit, just his balls. Probably no more than 50-100 dudes would recognize it anyway.”
